Our Story community

We began with the vision of two entrepreneurial men who, while working up the ladder for accounting giants, saw business owners going without the focused attention and services they deserved. Joe Rippe and George Kingston opened a small, boutique accounting firm whose goal was to offer large accounting firm experience with incredibly personalized attention. Their firm evolved and added several divisions, each created to address specific client needs. 35 years later, all of these companies boast client-centric success.

Our community has been essential in the growth of this firm. Cincinnati continues to be a rewarding place to work and build lasting relationships. Our lives and families are rooted here, and we have a vested interest in supporting the issues we care about. Below are some of the groups we serve—organizations that we believe in and whose sense of purpose we share.

Our Location

We’re proud that our roots run deep in Cincinnati. We are located in what is fondly referred to by Cincinnatians as the “Rookwood Building”. This name is a result of the building’s original tenant in the late 1800s – Rookwood Pottery. Maria Longworth Nichols turned the abandoned schoolhouse into a studio for painting ceramics. She and her chemists pioneered several glazes and decorating methods, and Rookwood Pottery became a highly regarded art form. In 1972, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It has been home to Rippe & Kingston since 1979.
