What is it like to work at R&K?

Company Culture

The atmosphere at Rippe & Kingston is relaxed, but professional.  The bottom line is about delivering quality work for our clients, so we do have high expectations.  We believe in reaching our client’s goals through teamwork.  Working together leads to better solutions for our clients and greater satisfaction for our people.  At R&K we have an open door policy.  Partners and managers are very available and encourage staff to communicate with them.  Our business casual dress code also contributes to the relaxed atmosphere.

Work Life Balance

Balance between work life and home life is essential in order to perform well professionally.  Different people define the balance in different ways and that is why we work to help you find your own balance of work and personal time.  Over the years, we have been able to accommodate many of our employees in achieving that balance.

Professional Development

Rippe & Kingston is a great place to learn.  With our diversified client base, our employees have the opportunity to work with businesses in a variety of industries.  They also have the opportunity to work directly with partners who are experts in the industries we serve.  We are departmentalized by audit and tax which allows employees to specialize in an area and to serve our clients better.

In addition to on the job training, each employee receives at least forty hours of formal training each year.  These training courses are conducted by the AICPA and other professional organizations.  With the combination of the classroom and real world experience, our employees obtain the tools and resources to succeed.

Commitment to the Community

Rippe & Kingston believes the success of the firm correlates with the success of the community in which we work and live. We find great satisfaction in giving back our time and money to the community. We participate in countless events and golf outings for a plethora of organizations including the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and the Cincinnati Art Museum just to name a few. Our partners serve on several not-for-profit boards and committees including Xavier University, Dan Beard Council- Boy Scouts of America, SPCA Cincinnati, Talbert House, and the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce.

Mentor Program

Transitioning from a student to a professional is exciting, but also overwhelming.  The early days at our firm are made much easier by a mentor program designed to help with the unfamiliar.  This system creates involvement and interaction between co-ops and/or new team members and the firm’s existing personnel.  Your mentor will be available to answer your questions, show you the internal operations of the firm, and to get you comfortable in your new environment.

Camaraderie

Our employees participate in several firm-wide social events which contribute to the congenial office atmosphere.  Rippe & Kingston sponsors an all day golf outing, evening at the Cincinnati Reds game, Cornhole tournament, and holiday get- together.  In addition, we gear up for tax season with a kick-off party; following April 15, we celebrate our hard work at the post tax-season party.  Members of the firm also enjoy spending time together at lunch, after work, and on the weekends.  We are dedicated to our work, but we always make time for fun with our coworkers.

Office Location

Rippe & Kingston is conveniently located in the Mt. Adams area of Cincinnati.  We enjoy a magnificent view of downtown without dealing with the hassle and expense of parking.  Our employees park for free in the lot directly adjacent to the office or directly across the street.
